Solid-Bronze L-Gibs |
| Custom
Mold Slide |
 |
| Solid-bronze L-gibs in a mold can provide low friction surfaces for guiding the
slide's movements. In operation, the angle-pin and heel-block push the slide to the left
to close the molding cavity when the mold is closed. When the mold is opened, the
angle-pin pulls the slide away from the molded part enabling part ejection. These gibs can
be ordered without screw holes so that custom screw hole locations can be installed at
assembly to avoid water lines. Grease fittings or other lubrication means should be
provided for these L-gibs if ordered without the optional graphite plugs. The slide can be
made of 4140 steel, P20 steel, or other materials. |

Forming Die |
 |
Solid-bronze L-gibs in a stamping die can provide low friction
surfaces for guiding the slide's movements. In operation, the cam-driver pushes the slide
toward the anvil to wrap the sheet metal under the anvil when the die is closed. When the
die is opened, the return-spring pushes the slide away from the anvil enabling part
ejection. Grease fittings or other lubrication means should be provided for these L-gibs
if ordered without the optional graphite plugs. |
